To BEE or Not to BEE

In Connections class we learned about the marvelous world of bees and beekeeping.

There are many methods of beekeeping but they boil down to a few basic steps:

• Smoking the bees

• Extracting the combs

• Cutting the wax layer

• Letting the honey drip free

In doing so we discovered that a new way of beekeeping is more ethical for the bees. Instead of the traditional way of smoking and irritating the bees and getting hurt in the process they came up with technology- a spout that dispenses honey. This inspires us to work on improving something else that we have problems with.
