Who Am I?

Every student at WECHS has a unique personality, with individual interests and needs, life experiences, and styles of communication. To help us create an open environment where everyone can feel comfortable and appreciated, we spent some time getting to know one another:
1) Learning styles tests revealed whether students learn best by seeing, by hearing, by doing, or some combination of the three.
2) We examined Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences and discovered that we have more in common (and more different) than we thought. Some students (and teachers) excel at visual-spatial tasks and intrapersonal examination, while others are best at logic-math problems or interpersonal interactions. Still others bebop along to their own personal soundtrack with a strong musical intelligence. And a few are ready to fight for the Naturalistic Intelligence to be embraced!
3) We also used psycho-geometrics to look at how we communicate with others, what characteristics stress us out, and how to communicate with people not like us.
4) Students created a draft of the professional resume that they will eventually include in their Graduation Project Portfolio, and probably use in interviews for jobs and scholarships. Because every student should graduate from WECHS ready for college, career, and life, every student needs to know how to convey their extensive talents, skills, and experiences to employers, admissions officers, and scholarship committees.
The photo above is a visual expression of our what we discovered about ourselves.
